Kayak meet sponsored by www.victoriapierangling.co.uk

We parked up at Conwy Morfa with driving rain and blustery winds and it wasnt't looking good.

The tide was ripping past the pontoon like a raging flood. Big spring tide on an estuary! After a pow wow it was decided to try Conwy harbour for launching but we all accepted that fishing an estuary on an ebb tide wasn't going to be productive.

Coffee and chat while we waited for Cliff and Ray to do a recce on the harbour and seek permission to use the slipway for launching the safety boat.

Under the bridges we went. Above Dave and Terry (Zebra).

Ray and Steve fishing. The fishing was slow with only a few bites and a strong tide made weed a problem.

Stitch willing the fish to bite. Views of the castle excellent from the water.

Kev Ashton on the front of Glyns malibu kayak.

Safety boat on hand.

John Legg above as we head off towards Deganwy. The rip tides and swells under the bridges made things interesting.

Deganwy more windy and wild with a fast flow of water. Bites few and only a rockling and flounder caught.

Some had a rest at the pontoon. On the way back to the slipway we had to paddle against the full force of a Conwy estuary spring tide. A riptide on the corner of a small headland really made us have have to paddle hard.

Some other kayakers arrived.

John Legg at the finish.
